At SHOT Show 2025, I stopped by the Mossberg booth to check out their new 590RM shotgun, which is a magazine-fed, pump-action shotgun! This new model has some awesome new features that caught my attention.
First, Mossberg swapped out the old magazine release button for a more modern AK-style release. You simply rock the mag into place, and it locks right in. It’s a quick, smooth process that really makes reloading a breeze.
Another cool update is the ambidextrous safety selector, which is very AR-style. You can switch it from either side, making it super user-friendly no matter which hand you use.
The flat-face trigger is also a nice touch for that tactical feel, and you can unlock the pump with your thumb for added convenience.
Mossberg designed this shotgun with AR-15 enthusiasts in mind, giving it controls that people who are familiar with ARs will feel right at home with. The adjustable AR-style buttstock and pistol grip add to the overall comfort and adjustability, making it easy to customize to fit your needs.
The gun feels solid in the hands, and the barrel shroud ensures you won’t burn yourself when handling it. I also noticed the Magpul backup flip-up sights, which are nice, though I’d probably throw on a red dot if I had this shotgun myself.
All in all, the new 590RM is a great choice for those who like AR-style controls on a shotgun, and it’s a fast, efficient tool.
What’s the price?
The Mossberg 590RM has an MSRP of $1,190.00 and is available in 2 different models. One has iron sights and places to mount them, while the other rocks a breacher-style cylinder choke and flash hider.

The brand-new 940 Pro SPX is a new tactical shotgun that was released at SHOT Show 2025. It’s packed with some seriously cool features.
While I haven’t had the chance to shoot it yet, I’m excited to walk you through some of the upgrades they’ve made.
First off, you’ll notice that the forend extends up to fully cover the barrel, which is a nice touch to prevent you from accidentally burning your hand.
The tubular magazine is another standout—it’s a one-piece design, with a barrel nut that holds 7+1 rounds. It’s sleek, solid, and definitely built to last.
The sights on this shotgun are protected by wings on both the front and rear, keeping them safe from bumps or damage. For a little extra flair, there’s a fiber optic bead in the front sight for better visibility.
Mossberg also made sure to add practical features, like QD sling attachments on both sides of the forend and an M-LOK slot for mounting accessories like a light. And I love the 5-round Velcro shell holder by Vang Comp that comes pre-mounted—it’s super convenient.
Plus, the 940 Pro SPX has oversized controls everywhere, from the bolt handle to the release, making operation easier even under pressure. If you’re looking for a shotgun that’s as practical as it is tough, the Mossberg 940 Pro SPX definitely fits the bill.
